The Oregon Coast STEM MSP was the precursor to the development of the Hub, and we share many partners and programs.
The Oregon Coast Regional STEM Education Center is a collaboration of Lincoln County and Tillamook School Districts networked with numerous regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) institutions and professionals. Our vision utilizes contextual, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to enhance STEM teaching and promote higher achievement among students from our rural communities. Building on LCSD's successful MSP, the Oregon Coast Aquatic and Marine Science Partnership, (OCAMP), and TSD's Natural Resources partnerships, we focus on integrating Ocean Literacy, Aquatic, Marine and Natural Resource Sciences with Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Oregon Science and Technology Content Standards.
Funded by a new 3 Year U.S. Department of Education Title IIB Math Science Partnership grant, our new STEM Center will provide K-12 teacher professional development and student learning experiences from the Fall of 2012 through the Summer of 2015.
